  • Presentation about Wikipedia
In 10, 12 and 14 January were made 3 presentations about Wikipedia, to launch the "Recuperação Económica e Coesão Social" course, sponsored by Centro de Informação Europeia Jacques Delors and directed to a group of about 125 primary and secondary teachers. All 3 presentations, similar in content, were presented by Manuel de Sousa (Porto, day 10), Béria Lima (Viseu, day 12) and Eduardo Pinheiro (Lisbon, day 14).

  • 10º Anniversary of Wikipedia

In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Wikipedia was held an event at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, which consisted in display, for the first time in Portugal, the movie "Truth in Numbers? Everything, According to Wikipedia" followed by a panel and lectures on the present and the future of Wikipedia.

  • WMPT in social media
After a long discussion, a complete clean up of WMPT social media account was made. The accounts of Twitter, Facebook, Google Buzz, Identi.ca, FriendFeed, Blogger, Youtube, Orkut and Flick were configured. The responsible for all the accounts was also decided.

  • IV General Assembly
The IV General meeting of WMPT was held in Porto, with the presence of André Barbosa, Nuno Tavares, João Miguel Vasconcelos, Lars Wessman, Béria Lima, Manuel de Sousa and Susana Morais. The topics in discussion were the Chapter's Agreement; the appointment of a interim treasurer and the Regulamento Interno modifications.

  • Presentation about Wikipedia - End of course

  • Preparativos do aniversário da Wikipédia Lusófona

  • Wiki Loves Monuments
The internal regiment for WLM and the sponsorship program were created, and the search for Sponsors and Partners started.

  • Apresentação na Conferência Shristi 2011
Presentation made by Béria Lima at Shristi 2011 conference, after invitation by Anirudh Singh Bhati, treasurer of Wikimedia India.
  • V General Assembly
This General Assembly had the presence of Lodewijk Gelauff to discuss Wiki Loves Monuments Europe 2011. It was also discussed the Report for 2010 and the plans and budget to 2011.
  • 10th Anniversary of Portuguese Wikipedia
During all month of April, the Oitavo WikiConcurso happened, and their final results were to be announced at 11 May, the exact date of 10º Anniversary of Portuguese Wikipedia.

The site http://www.wikilovesmonuments.org.pt was developed and launched.

  • WLM Berlin hackathon
Gonçalo Themudo (sponsored by Wikimedia Deutschland) and Nuno Tavares (sponsored by Wikimedia CH) participate in Berlin Hackathon, to help the organization of Wiki Loves Monuments 2011 - Europe.
  • 10th Anniversary of Portuguese Wikipedia
To celebrate the 10º Anniversary of Portuguese Wikipedia, the 8th WikiConcurso was held, with the awards sponsored by Wikimedia Portugal. The event also had mediatic coverage.
  • Wikimedia Portugal Blog
It was installed and configured the Wikimedia Portugal blog (blog.wikimedia.pt). The first posts were the reports from 2009 and 2010. The announcement was made on the mailing list at 4 May.

  • Encontro Wikimedia Ibero-americano
The I Encontro Wikimedia Ibero-americano was held in Buenos Aires with representants of Argentina, Chile, Spain and Portugal chapters and the working groups of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela. The representats of Wikimedia Portugal were Nuno Tavares and Manuel de Sousa.

The comunication material was created and distributed.

  • Wiki Loves Monuments
In preparation for the Wiki Loves Monuments, WMPT started a record of media coverage of the event. We also created an event page on Facebook, which was released by the members to all their contacts.
  • Fundraising agreement
Waldir Pimenta had a meeting via IRC with Moushira Elamrawy to clarify some points about the Fundraising agreement between Wikimedia Portugal and Wikimedia Foundation. The conclusion that WMPT couldn't be a payment processor at 2011 Fundraising was contested and Moushira suggest that a real life meeting should be held during Wikimania 2011, in early August.

  • Wiki Loves Monuments
As the event approach, the preparations intensified, with more contact with Media and Sponsors, cooperation with the international edition, and final corrections to data and systems. It was written and published a press release, and the kit was distributed to publicize the WLM by sponsors and support.
  • Preparations to next Board
Per Manuel de Sousa suggestion, a Board meeting was held on IRC at 26 August, to coordinate and prepare the next Board election and define the strategic plan for WMPT.
  • Interview
Gonçalo Themudo was interviewd by Folha de São Paulo about Wikipédia, and the interview was published in Folha de São Paulo site. The annoucement was made on the mailing list.

  • Wiki Loves Monuments 2011
During all September, we held the national verison of Wiki Loves Monuments 2011. And as part of it, were organized two photographic raids "Wikipedia takes the city" with the support of IGESPAR, and as part of Jornadas Europeias do Património de 2011.

  • Final Preparations for Wiki Loves Monuments
After the collect image phase, the final stages of the Wiki loves monuments were organized:
  1. Validation of every picture submitted on Wikimedia Commons.
  2. Evaluation of photographs by the jury.
  3. Preparation of the jury meeting.
  4. Production of the press release announcing the result.
  5. Awards the winners (directly and through the sponsors).
  • Jury Meeting for Wiki Loves Monuments 2011
In this meeting, the jury formed by Sérgio Tinoco (Fotosport), Jorge de Matos (Câmara Municipal de Sintra), Carlos Botelho (Wikimedia Commons), Miguel Soromenho (IGESPAR) and Nuno Tavares (Wikimedia Portugal) deliberated on the images and selected the winners of Wiki Loves Monuments Portugal 2011. A list of winning images can be found at Wiki Loves Monuments 2011 - Europe/Vencedores.

As part of the final organizations for Wiki Loves Monuments, several tools had been developed which determined that Mosteiro da Batalha was the Portuguese monument with more photos during the contest (409), and the monument with more photos by different photographers was Torre de Belém (35 photographers). Also in this month was the vote for the International Wiki Loves Monuments Art Nouveau competition (link).
  • CiviCRM Reorganization
Nuno Tavares proposed the reorganization of Wikimedia Portugal CiviCRM and Waldir Pimenta create a guide of this tool.
  • Wikimedia Portugal Educação
Based on the Brazilian model, WMPT started a discussion about the possibility of a partnership between a few Portuguese Universities and WMPT to create a Education project.

In this meeting was approved the new Board of Wikimedia Portugal for 2012-2013:
Director: Manuel de Sousa (President), Nuno Tavares (Treasurer), João Miguel Vasconcelos (Secretário);
General Assembly: Waldir Pimenta (President), Susana Morais (Secretary) and Lars Wessman;
Fiscal Council: André Barbosa (President), Eduardo Pinheiro (Secretary) and Béria Lima.
The Internal Regiment was modified to create the Conselho de Gestão, structured with departments (see also Reorganização da direcção). The following departments were created:
Departamento de Coordenação de Associados (Members coordination Department): João Vasconcelos (coordinator), Nuno Tavares e Libério Sobreira
Departamento de Tesouraria (Treasury Department): Nuno Tavares (coordinator) e André Barbosa
